Meres Weche
Online Editor - MSN Today, Since 2008: Microsoft Canada
Bilingual: French, English
I am the founder and owner of Culture Shox Media Inc, which publishes the following websites:
http://www.toronto-franco.com
http://www.afrotoronto.com
http://www.afrogotham.com
http://www.worldagesarchive.com
I'm also currently the Entry Points Editor for MSN Today and Encarta at Microsoft Canada.
The world of online media is my passion. I enjoy writing arts-related articles and, as the executive editor of three online magazines, I also manage a team of several international freelancers.
As an affiliate marketing manager, I also combine engaging content and commerce to create effective advertorials.
I consider myself a consummate multi-disciplinarian who easily navigates between many worlds and skill-sets. As the founder and manager of an online media company, I wear many hats as a webmaster, graphic designer, HTML and PHP coder, editor, writer and affiliate marketing manager.
I love to travel and discover new horizons. I have lived and worked in Cairo, Egypt (National Bank of Egypt in 2003), New York, USA (Freelance work, 1995-96) and in London, England (various employers, 1991 & 1996). I've backpacked through Europe and visited various Caribbean islands (Haiti, Matinique, St. Lucia & Trinidad).
I enjoy my work as a cultural columnist and have been granted media accreditations for such great festivals as the Toronto International Film Festival, HotDocs, International Festival of Authors (IFOA), etc.
