Patrick Mceachen

An amateur hockey player who has achieved success with a number of teams in Ontario, Patrick McEachen most recently co-captained the Central Canadian Hockey League (CCHL) Junior A Wellington Dukes. McEachen’s outstanding defense work earned him selection on the “Battle of Ontario” All Star Team for two years running and in 2010 he was the leading defenseman scorer in the CCHL Playoffs.
Patrick McEachen first took to the ice when he was 2 years old, then joined the Rep A Stouffville Clippers when he was 5. He attended Stouffville’s Glad Park French Immersion Public School through eighth grade, gaining recognition as a French Speech Contest winner and a French Speaking Award recipient. McEachen excelled with the Ontario Minor Hockey Association’s Richmond Hill Stars during this time, helping the team achieve championships in 2001 and 2002. He notably received the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville Achievement Award at age 10.
From 2005 to 2009, Patrick McEachen attended Brother Andre Catholic High School, earning the school’s Academic Achievement Award in Canadian History and a diploma for excellence in French. While playing in the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League (OPJHL), he was twice selected for the All-Star Junior Team. McEachen next played with St. Michael’s Majors, a junior team in the Ontario Hockey League, and participated in the 2008 NHL Top Prospects Game on Prince Edward Island. Prior to the 2009 draft, McEachen had interviews with five NHL teams, reflecting his status as an NHL Central Scouting division “Player to Watch.”
Patrick McEachen’s interest in sports extends to basketball and baseball, and he is an avid supporter of the Toronto Raptors, the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He enjoys playing golf and working out in his free time, as well as volunteering with the Salvation Army.
