After working in semi-conductor research in the Silicon Valley, he joined an engineering consulting company in France as a consultant before transferring to the business development team.

  • COHERENT - Engineer

    2006 - 2007 High Power Optically Pumped Semiconductor Laser (OPS- VECSEL):
    • OPS laser with frequency doubling (532nm-TEM00): Worked on new generation of high power semiconductor lasers and established characteristics of OPS chips. This project includes studies of amplified spontaneous emission and lateral lasing of the VECSEL for different cavity designs, construction and optimization of novel laser resonator designs, laser cavity improvement. Investigation on laser tenability and wavelength tunability.
    • ZEMAX: Designed an optical free space pump system for OPS lasers.
    • M2 measurement: Established a beam quality measurement of bare diode array.
    • Programmed an Igor (MatLab equivalent) routine for the automation of high power green laser platform to characterize OPS chip performance. This program maps out semiconductor laser performance in four dimensions: Output power and mode characterization (single transverse mode or multi transverse mode) versus pump power and length of the cavity.
