    2011 - 2013 Managing a 250 million Euros Greenfield project of new 3600 tons per day cement plant in Benin, including a power plant of 40 MW.

    > Project execution (Tendering/Evaluation/Order placement phase):
    o Responsible for overall preparation of the Tender Documents
    o Review process parameters, basic sizing of the main machinery and layout of the project
    o Review/elaborate the design of the production facilities
    o Review the bid documents and the technical specifications
    o Managing the processes of tendering, Negotiations and Contracting:
    o Releasing the tender document to competitive international contractors
    o Tender evaluation and selection of the contractors / suppliers
    o Drafting the final contract & negotiate contracts
    o Responsible of the equipment inspection during fabrication in workshop
    o Follow-up site activities (Civil, Steel structure, mechanical, electrical erection)
    o Conduct commissioning and performance tests
    o Responsible for technical training to the operational team before handover

    > Project management:
    o Prepare an overall detailed Project Schedule with specific responsibilities.
    o Lead the project team and the site team.
    o Guide the project with responsibility in terms of plant design, quality, cost and time
    o Monitor & Control the project progress and report to the Steering committee periodically
    o Lead the project team in controlling the overall project cost/budget including establishing project cost tracking system
    o Ensure completion of the project within the Budget – Time & Cost
    o Responsible for overall documentation of the project (“as built” drawings, Manuals, etc...)
    o Continuous relationships with stakeholders and project owner
    o Organize regular high level meetings with all the actors of the project
    o Ensure an efficient project reporting system to the Steering Committee.

  • Lafarge - Senior Project Manager

    Paris 2004 - 2007 Design and Construction of Lafarge Cement first investment in Vietnam (total budget: 30 m€):

    -> a cement grinding station of ½ million tons capacity (Chinese contractor)
    -> a river port of 30,000 dwt capacity (Vietnamese Contractor)

    Analysis of the logistic situation, development of the design studies with contractors and external consultants, synthesis of the terms of reference, choice of port design, preparation of the call for tender, analysis of offers, preparation of contracts, recruitment of site team, animation and coordination of external resources, creation of reference schedule, follow up of budget, checking compliance of equipment with requirements, managing of several international contractors, motivation of actors of the project, check up of the situation regarding safety and environmental standards, monthly report and regular presentation to steering committee.
  • Lafarge - Project Engineering Service Manager

    Paris 2002 - 2004 in 2002, Lafarge has created a technical centre in Asia in order to monitor the big increase of activity in the region.
    I was in charge to create the engineering service of this Technical centre of lafarge in Asia.

    -> Creation of the service & recruitment of team members (design engineers, planner, cost estimator, civil engineer, purchaser, draftsmen), team building of multi cultural group, transfer of competencies, planning of service’s tasks, management of work load, annual appraisals and definition of objectives of each team member, evaluation of the achievement regarding work requests and projects needs, writing of service procedures & guidelines.

    Paris 1992 - 2002 Technip is a worldwide leader in Engineering; During ten years I have had different positions from Process engineer to project manager, mainly involved in new project related to cement industry.

    -> Revamping (EPC) of the CIMPOR cement plant - Temara - Morocco (15 m€),
    -> Revamping (EPC) of the LAFARGE Cement plant Ciments – Port-La-Nouvelle - France (15 m€)
    -> Design & Construction of the BUTSON cement plant - Vietnam (150 m€).

    Project manager after the positions of Proposal engineer and Project engineer, I went through all engineering tasks such as cost estimation, management of transversal skilled teams, management of international contractors, scheduling, equipment specifications, process flowsheets, plant commissioning, civil works, electrical and automation, in view to answer international call for tenders and completion of cement plant projects.
