    Bangalore 2012 - maintenant Project: EMEA AMS BI European Support

    Role: Project Manager/Technical Lead

    As a part of European Managed Services engagement, this project was a one stop Business Intelligence support engagement for 67 European countries including the middle east and Asia. The main responsibility of this support engagement involved data integrity and availability of data across Europe accessed through multiple applications like BOXI, Qlikview, and a customized Java application called EBMS/SPMS which is a back order management system.

    * Resonsible for providing quality data in Datawarehouse, promptly in the agreed required window for all 67 European countries.
    * Ensure all daily tasks which monitors all jobs responsible for fetching this data are executed, communication emails send. Ensures corrective actions are taken in case jobs do not run, data not fetched.
    * Provided design solutions with respect to various facets of datawarehousing like Teradata BTEQ scripting, BOXI universe and reports, Qlikview Dashboards.
    * Involved in creation, updation, deletion and modifications of views in Teradata DW.
    * Responsible for all daily, weekly and monthly ETL jobs and was involved in modifications and creation of new ETLs for multiple projects.
    * Supported over 300 reports and 50+ universes across all businesses like sales, logistics, supply chain, backorders, Finance and IT.
    * Supported over 55 Qlikview applications across all businesses. Involved in the daily/monthly/weekly load and distribution of all these Qlikview applications.
    * Ensures team involves in proper communication with source teams and other partner teams at a global level to ensure required files that jobs pick are send on time. Ensures files are re-send if jobs needs to be re-run.
    * Monitor Remedy tool/ITSM HP tool at a regular basis to ensure ticket optimization, reduction of tickets and resource engagement.
    * Change request management is another responsibility that is being handled end to end. Estimates are provided through clear quest change management tool, SOW signed off, CR initiated and completed in the requested time frame. Oversaw the development, unit testing and migration of these CRs.
    * Managed a team of 15 members who work in multiple applications. Ensured, daily taks, communications, ticket resolution, CR completion, job monitoring are effectively handled by these respources in quick time.
    * Involved in weekly, monthly , quarterly and yearly management reviews. Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly dashboards were presented to the management in PPT and Excel format that provided regular statuses of incident and change management.
    * Involved also as a technical lead for this engagement which involved data solutions, report solutions, query tunings, CR architect reviews and ensured quality work from the team.
    * Acted as the primary Provider point of Contact for the engagement
    * Was responsible for ensuring the quality and timeliness of the services being provided.
    * Was involved in a successful transition from a third party vendor which involved KT sessions, reverse KT sessions, documentation, PPTs, and cleared Gate 1, Gate 2 and Gate 3 reviews.
    * Achieved 100 % resolution and 100 % response compliance throughout the project cycle. ;

    Bangalore 2011 - 2012 Project: UU Transition Project - Cognos to SAP BO/BI Migration

    Role: Project Manager/Project Lead

    The support of the SAP Application arises out of the need as United Utilities has sold off its Electricity business to Electricity North West (ENWL). Since, the electricity business has been shifted out to ENWL; there is a need to support the SAP services that was being done for UU's SAP systems, by ENWL now. Reports that were delivered were migrated from Cognos to SAP BI as part of the SAP Transformation project.

    * Involved in full Project Management cycle involving requirement gathering, scoping, preparing blueprint documentation, BI realization, unit testing, system testing, go-live activities, change management processes, user training and technical documentation.
    * Team was involved in configuring and enhancing BW extractors, creating info cubes, data store objects, multi-providers and process chains and developed BEX queries, universes and Web Intelligence documents.
    * Managed 3 onsite and 5 offshore resources who were responsible for the following SAP BO/BI Activities:

    * 1. Extracting from ECC, loading in BI and doing reports
    * 1. Feeding the DSO and Info cubes with the data which will be fetched from SAP ECC system
    * 1. Daily Delta records will be fetched from source via Process chains
    * 1. Migrating the universes to Production Web Intelligence domain

    The objective of this project is to design and develop a Business Objects universe (Clinician Portal Utilization Universe) that will provide reporting capabilities for the utilization data of the PatientKeeper products for corporate and division resources. This project aimed at reducing dependency on PatientKeeper application and provided in depth access to hCare portal and mobility utilization data in a timely and user friendly manner.

    * Involved in Full life cycle design and development of ETL, Business Objects reporting Application
    * Acted as the primary Provider point of Contact for the engagement
    * Was responsible for ensuring the quality and timeliness of the services being provided.

    2005 - 2009 Medtronic is a Global Leader in Medical Instruments and best in production and maintenance of Medical Instruments distributed across the world. The Project was to upgrade and maintain universes plus generates reports from sales and finances department, using Data warehousing databases.

    Responsibilities:
    * Involved in Full life cycle design and development of Business Objects reporting Application
    * Worked with versions 5.0, 6.1, 6.5 and XI. Version 5.0 is used for Business Objects Publisher reports, 6.1 is used by end users and shared a common universe repository with version 6.5, and actively involved in the migration of reports from 6.5 to XI . This is an on-going process done one business at a time and involved conversion of reports using Migration tool or recreation of incompatible reports. Intensive testing followed the migration process.
    * Worked with Crystal 10 and Crystal XI. Extensively designed reports with both these versions of Crystal reports. Created and Managed Business Views and Data Foundations. Provided extensive support to Nuero Business for all the existing Crystal 10 reports, while all new Crystal requirements were created in Crystal XI.
    * Involved in Business Process Analysis, Gathering Requirement, Reengineering, Develop & Implement Data Warehouse and Business Objects Application. Shared the load with project Managers to create multi-page proposals for report creation from various Internal Businesses like Neuro, Vascular, CRDM and Cardiac Surgery. This also included post-project design specifications documents that clearly outline the entire report design process including report table definitions, filters and conditions used and hierarchy definitions.
    * Implicated in the design of Universes, Classes, Objects, and Hierarchies for Multidimensional Analysis of the database using Business Objects 6.5 and XI for Production, Technical, and Sales department of the Company.
    * Created Multiple Universes in Designer using secure connection from Enterprise Data Warehouse tables, XML data providers, Excel sheets, and free hand SQL. These universes were used for Global report creation and delivery. The various universes created were Kintana EPM universe, Get paid universe, Global Supply Chain universe, SABA universe, Siebel-IFO universe and Nuero Publisher universe. Universes were created in both versions 6.5 and XI.
    * Used the Universes, Stored Procedures as Source for Business Objects, Querying, Analysis and Reporting
    * Created Master-Detailed Reports using Drill down/up Functionality for the Decision Support System regarding to the Company's Products. Various reports created were Actual Vs Plan reports, Implant Summary reports, Supply Chain dashboards, Global Registration System reports, Credit Services reports, SABA educational reports, Finance P&L reports and other complex reports. Reports were made of single and multiple data-providers including multiple universes. Created reports in Full Client (Desktop Intelligence) as well as Web Intelligence Infoview.
    * Used Import Wizard in XI to migrate universes from one environment to another.
    * Managed users, groups, folders, universes and universe connections security using Central Management Console. CMS was used for maintaining security of Business Objects and Crystal reports users.
    * Created Joins, Contexts, and Aliases, for resolving Loops, and Checked the Integrity of the Universes

  • Nationwide Financial Services - Business Objects Analyst

    2005 - 2005 Nationwide Financial, Inc. and its subsidiaries provide insurance, investment management and other financial products and services to both retail and institutional customers throughout the United States and in over 30 other countries. Principal products and services provided include life insurance, annuities, mutual funds, pension- and retirement-related investments and administration and asset management. As a BO developer, Ramkumar was involved in understanding the database structure and existing project workflow. Planning and sharing work with each team member. This project was a web based marketing tool that allows various merchandisers to run online reports and research.

    * Involved in full life cycle of design. Gathered required information regarding customers, business market, and loan interest rates and analyzed the data and priorities for project. Data models were then designed, extracted, transformed and loaded. Infrastructure and databases were setup. Unit testing was carried out, integrated and implemented for the necessary operations.
    * Supervisor: Used BO Supervisor powers to create, change and delete users and groups. Reports were stored in various categories which were made available to info-view users. Security was maintained on several universes and reports.
    * Broadcast Agent was used for scheduling daily, monthly and weekly reports a requested by the end users. Output was stored in respective inboxes. Output files are stored in network folders for each access by end users. Info view was also used to share common reports. Output files were organized into various sections to simplify the efforts of end users.
    * Designer: Designed and monitored numerous universes against various database environments. Various universes that have been monitored and developed are, ;
    * Accounts Universe: This universe provides extensive reporting capabilities to the end users for reporting the Checking's accounts and saving's accounts of customers. ;
    * Consumer loan Universe: This universe provides extensive reporting capabilities to the end users for reporting the details of the consumer loans, Auto loans, House loans and Small Business loans, provided to the company clients.
    * Credit Cards Universe: This universe provides extensive reporting capabilities to the end users for reporting the details regarding credit cards of clients. ;
    * Real Estate Universe: This universe provides extensive reporting capabilities to the end users for reporting the real estate information and business details. ;
    * HR Universe: This universe provides extensive reporting capabilities to the end users for reporting the Human Resources information. ;

    * Developed several reports for HR users, financial transaction users, Payroll users and top management. Used multiple data providers per report, created several variable and complex formulae per reports (Calculation of cash flow, expenditure, assets and liabilities).

    * Loan transaction reports: These reports are run for a particular time-period and details of loans provided, interest rates, customer interest payment and due dates with customer information for Auto, House and Business loans.
    * Financial Service reports: This report is designed to summarize various financial services provided by the company namely Long-term care planning, education planning, Insurance planning, tax planning, retirement planning, Estate planning and Investment planning.
    * Budget Performance report: This report produces projected amounts, budgeted amounts and forecasting information. ;
    * FTE report: This report provided the FTE for each pay period which includes regular hours worked, Overtime hours, non-paid hours and Total FTE's. ;
    * HR report: Provides overview of new hires, promotions, terminations and head counts. This report was printed in a summarized pattern by EEO category with grades and EEO class. This also included W2 earnings of all the employees with full length of service.

  • Rockwell Automation - Business Objects Designer

    VOISINS LE BRETONNEUX 2004 - 2005 Rockwell Automation provides products and technology for most advanced automation, power control and conversion products and services. Primary role in this project was to identify and analyze the business requirement, gathering user requirement, deployment, installing Business Objects software created and maintain the repositories, domain universes and reports.

    * Installed Business Objects version 6.5.1, Desktop products on personal desktops and Server Products on the Server.
    * Installed web-server and application server namely, APACHE and TOMCAT.
    * Set-up the connection for the universe to the repository and also to the Sybase database. Tested the connection. Ran sample SQL statements to confirm active connection.
    * Implemented and monitored the active functioning of all modules of Business Objects which included Supervisor, Designer, and Business Objects Full Client, Web intelligence Infoview, Broadcast Agent and Server Administration Console.
    * Successfully logged into different modules to serve the various functions this software provides.
    * Reviewed the Data warehouse Schema for the creation of universe.
    * Reviewed the Marketing reporting requirements to study the various objects and classes to be included in the Universe.
